WPP re-affirms commitment to Ford and Detroit with new 1,000 strong campus

WPP is creating another campus to house its multifarious agencies, this time in Detroit, home to Ford which it still describes as its biggest client despite losing the creative slice of the business to BBDO and Wieden+Kennedy.

The new campus in the Marquette building will house GTB, VMLY&R, Burrows, Hudson Rouge, Iconmobile, Xaxis and Zubi. GTB is its bespoke Ford agency (said by some to be Ford’s marketing department), Hudson Rouge handles Ford’s Lincoln luxury brand, Zubi is a multicultural agency and Burrows design and production. It will house around 1,000 people.

WPP CEO Mark Read says: “We are pleased that this project will be part of the ongoing economic and cultural revitalization of the city of Detroit. As a company driven by creativity and technology, we employ people in a broad range of communications services, such as advertising and media, public relations, data investment management and customer experience.

“As the renewal of Detroit accelerates, we hope to become a destination for creative thinkers and innovators, contributing to job growth and diversification in the market while advancing the goals of our clients.”
