Smirnoff owns up to its ups and downs in new 72andSunny effort

Can it really be 25 years since Smirnoff ran a global campaign? That’s what they say and Diageo’s biggest vodka brand is back with a cinema-style effort from 72andSunny New York, ‘infamous since 1864.’

Smirnov, as it then was had its moments with Smirnov himself fleeing the Russian October Revolution (the tsar has already nationalised the vodka industry), Prohibition in the US (both featured here) and being, it seems, traded secretly in France in the Alain Delon era (some poetic licence here perhaps?)

But it’s nicely done. Be a shame if we had to wait 25 years for the next one.
