Nescafe lets its hair down with Publicis’ ‘Swooshy Man’
Nobody ever seems to like Nescafe ads but that hasn’t stopped owner Nestlé becoming the biggest food company in the world. These days it says it’s into “health and wellness” too but don’t we all, darlings.
Lately it’s been trying to inject some humour into the presentation of some of its brands, notably with the latest George Clooney effort for the hitherto wholly humourless Nespresso.
Now Publicis London is trying to mine the humour seam with this new effort for Nescafe Original (as it’s now called), ‘Swooshy Man.’
Could be worse. Would be better with different music but British agencies just love big noise even when they’re being arch about it.
MAA creative scale: 6.
Here’s Clooney and McShane, from McCann Worldgroup. For some reason there’s only this version on YouTube even though there’s one of those ‘making of’ films. Maybe this is another Swiss joke.
Not bad either: 7.
