Go-go online electrical retailer AO.com has picked Karmarama as its lead pan-European creative agency. The agency won the business after a four-way pitch handled by the AAR. Karmarama’s duties include broadcast advertising and digital marketing.

AO.com launched in Germany in September 2014, the next stage of the company’s European expansion. AO.com launched in the UK in 2000 (originally as Appliances Online) and moved into Germany in September 2014. It was founded by current CEO John Roberts (below). AO.com previously worked with BMB in the UK. The company recently won the title Britain’s Best Retailer at the Verdict Retail Awards for customer satisfaction, ousting John Lewis from top spot.
Karmarama employs 300 or so people in advertising, direct, data, digital, content, social media, mobile and public relations. Clients include BT, Cobra, Costa Coffee, Iceland and Plusnet.
