The 2015 Super bowl ‘best use of celebs’ Oscar has to go to Nationwide Insurance (no relation to the UK outfit although neither can resist rhyming Nationwide with ‘on your side’).
Its ‘Invisible’ ad, showing how companies and others, like insurers, forget you, from agency McKinney, features US writer and actress Mindy Kaling and one Matt Damon.
This is Nationwide’s first Super Bowl spot since 2007 but money well spent. Broadcaster NBC (the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks by the way) is estimated to have trousered $300m from this year’s Bowl.
