Walkers crisps/snacks is running a competition offering £1m to someone who invents a wonderful new flavour so it wheeled in long-time front man, ex-footballer and now TV presenter Gary Lineker to try a few.
Such is the conceit, anyway, behind this latest campaign, ‘Do Us A Flavour,’ from AMV/BBDO.
It could all have been impossibly arch but Lineker puts in a good performance playing himself (if that makes sense) and the insight it gives into the gruesome business of making commercials is diverting.
Veteran director Paul Weiland has been steering these Walkers ads for decades and he’s on top form here. Didn’t know the great man could act as well.
