W+K Tokyo wins top Japanese ad award for Nike – and this one really is inscrutable

This ad for Nike, ‘Pledge’, won Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo Japan’s ACC Grand Prix and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications awards for 2012. ACC  stands for All Japan Radio and Television Commercials Confederation – but you knew that already.

All looks a bit alarming to me, not at all what you’d expect from a far-flung outpost of those pot smoking, organic beer drinking Portland types. It seems to be about baseball but I’d take a tin hat just in case.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpZ3XhhuJyI
