ITV has appointed content agency Somethin’ Else, to work on social media content alongside its in-house team for the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and future projects. The appointment follows a pitch earlier this summer involving three agencies.
The agency will work across multiple platforms. Somethin’ Else will also work on live show output and this will see a number of the Somethin’ Else team join ITV staff in Australia for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Better find a keen bug eater then.
This is the first time that ITV has worked directly with Somethin’ Else for social media content although the agency is currently retained by the BRIT Awards, which is broadcast each February on ITV.
ITV Digital Studios head of entertainment, comedy and drama Athena Witter says: “Strong social media content will be a crucial component of both I’m a Celebrity and our future projects and Somethin’ Else presented a compelling vision and creative ideas on how we could ensure online platforms play a key part in the success of our television shows.”
Somethin’ Else MD Steve Ackerman says: “I’m delighted that we’re going to be working with ITV for the first time. I’m A Celebrity offers amazing opportunities for social media with mass audiences and we’re looking forward to the other projects we may work with ITV on.”
