New-style Electric Glue and Roast win Freesat media

Sir John Hegarty a media man? Sort of.

Hegarty is chairman of a new-style media agency called Electric Glue and the agency has just won the Freesat media account in partnership with another relative newbie called Roast. Freesat is a free satellite TV platform in the UK.

Electric Glue houses BBH alumni Nick Kendall and Kevin Brown while Roast was founded by Steak Group’s Ollie Bishop. They claim a collaborative round table approach with client, media, creative and media partners working together to the same business goals. They already work together on accounts including Rightmove.

Electric Glue has worked with Freesat since September last year but Roast replaces Havas Media.

Freesat marketing director Andre Santos says: “Going into a year of significant change for Freesat, we’re excited to extend the partnership we have with Electric Glue and welcome Roast into the fold.

“We’re extremely grateful to Havas for their support over the last ten years and for helping us to establish Freesat as a brand that now delivers free to air TV to over two million UK homes. However, as we move into a new phase in the company’s history, the time was right for a review about how media can help us achieve our business objectives.”
