In a surprise move Volkswagen has switched its Commercial Vehicles account from adam&eveDDB to BBH following a pitch. A&E handles VW’s car account.
This is BBH’s first piece of VW brand business although it has handled VW’s Audi since the agency’s inception in 1982. In 2018 BBH and Audi won the Grand Prix at the IPA Effectiveness Awards and BBH also won Effectiveness Company of the Year.
The win is a welcome boost for Publicis Groupe-owned BBH which has declined to repitch for its big Virgin Media account.
VW Commercial Vehicles makes the compact Caddy, Transporter and Crafter panel vans, the Caravelle passenger carrier, California camper van and Amarok pick-up.
Commercial Vehicles head of marketing Sarah Cox says: “ We are excited to be working with BBH as our lead creative agency, and a partner to our business.”
