McCann adds to winning run with Kew Foundation
McCann London is building up quite a head of steam – and it’s a while since you’ve been able to say that – and the agency has just been appointed by the Kew Foundation, the charitable arm of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in south west London, to support the charity’s fundraising and communications.
These days Kew is known as much for its work in conservation and sustainable development around the world as its celebrated plant collections. It receives just under half of its income from the UK government, the rest comes from the Kew Foundation.
Kew Foundation co-CEO Lynne Guyton says: “We are delighted that McCann London will help Kew Foundation in raising vital funds from companies, individuals and trusts to help Kew continue its role in plant discovery and protection for future generations.”
McCann London CEO Alex Lubar says: “Kew is a brand very close to the British public’s heart. Our aim is to harness the latent love and, through inventive solutions, bring to life the hugely important scientific work it does to help safeguard the world in which we live.”
So far this year McCann London has retained supermarket chain Aldi in a stiff pitch, launched its debut campaign for the All England Club which runs the Wimbledon tennis tournament and won Alzheimer’s Society, one of the UK’s biggest charities.
