The BBC has decided to plug its local news operation and enlisted RKCR/Y&R for the purpose.
Local news in the UK, as we always understood it, is dying these days as local and regional newspapers wither and commercial local radio stations combine to chase audiences. So the good old Beeb, which still does it, has a story to tell.
And it also has its licence fee review coming up at the end of 2016 when, for all we know, the country may be run by Ukip’s Nigel Farage and his assorted band of loonies. So this, presumably, is part of the softening up process aimed at hostile legislators.
A bit doom and gloom but it makes a valuable point.
