Adam&eveDDB has added yet another account to its 2014 haul, luxury handbag and accessories brand Mulberry.
So far this year A&E has won Virgin Atlantic and McCain among others, both pitches against top-ranking London agencies.
A&W, most famous for its john Lewis work, has also made quite a reputation in the luxury sector, winning buckets of awards including a haul of Cannes Grand Prix for its work for upscale store Harvey Nichols. Mulberry is a big challenge though: the company has issued a series of profit warnings and is currently attempting to revive its fortunes by signing up model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne (below) to launch her own collection.
Brands like Mulberry aren’t being helped by the slowdown in the world economy either. Even the mighty Burberry is beginning to suffer as sales slow down in big markets like China.
A&E CEO James Murphy says: “Who wouldn’t be excited about the prospect of helping a brand like Mulberry succeed in the gifting season?”
At least James doesn’t have to think too hard about what prezzies to buy this Christmas.
