Sorrell in hot water over altercation with WPP’s Prior

Did he or didn’t he?

S4Capital’s Sir Martin Sorrell clearly had a vigorous exchange of views with Jim Prior (below), boss of his old company WPP’s Superunion brand consultancy, at the recent Web Summit in Lisbon (Sorrell had promoted Prior to be boss of then new WPP entity) but denies he slapped Prior despite reports from others in the speakers room that he had.

Such exchanges are hardly unknown in the upper echelons of business but, even so, don’t reflect very well on the participants. Prior had previously said S4 was a “speck in WPP’s rear view mirror.”

Time for S4’s chairman to tell SMS to calm down a bit maybe, in his feud with his former employers.

Oh, he is the chairman so guess there’ll be more fun and games.
