Is the ASA miss-guided to ban Missguided?

The UK’s ASA ad regulatory body has found against this ad for online clothing firm Missguided which ran in popular ITV show Love Island (now to be broadcast twice a year it’s so popular.)

The ASA says it depicts women as “sexual objects.”

Thought that was the entire point of Love Island (men as well as women.)

  1. The ASA seems to have forgotten the distinction between women being depicted as purely sexual objects (wrong) and women being depicted as people who can, among other things, be sexual (in just the same way as men can be!).
