Nike courts China controversy with Dribble&
Apparently a Chinese journalist told basketball great LeBron James to “shut up and dribble” in a recent encounter, which has sparked a new campaign from Nike and agency Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai – Dribble& – and even a new range of clothing.
Reminiscent, in a way, of Nike recent Colin Kaepernick campaign, which upset a few apple carts.
Nike had better watch it in China though. Look at the trouble Dolce & Gabbana found themselves in when they ran an ad with a Chinese model trying to eat a pizza with chopsticks.
Brave of Nike although you can see why the odd hack becomes impatient with sports stars volunteering opinions on absolutely anything.
Not the greatest ad, but that’s presumably not the point. File in the always-on video category.
