Jason Cobbold takes the reins at BMB

London agency BMB has hired Jason Cobbold (below) as its new CEO. Cobbold was at US-based innovation agency Redscout and before that a senior suit at Publicis and BBH. He replaces long-serving Juliet Haygarth who left in December for health reasons.

Last month BMB, majority owned by South Korea’s Cheil Worldwide, hired Matt Lever from VCCP as its new ECD.

Cobbold says: “Few agencies are held in the same regard and affection as BMB, and I will be building on this with Matt and the team. Together, we’ll be driving a business that serves the needs of today’s marketers and brand owners.”

BMB is, indeed, venerable by London creative agency standards, founded by Trevor Beattie and others in back in 2005. It now lives next door to Cheil Europe, run by CEO Kevin Park.

For some reason Cheil has failed to take off in the UK despite its work for Samsung and the efforts of some top managers including Bruce Haines and Paul Hammersley, now running the Harbour agency collective. BMB recently produced the Pride in London ‘Over the Rainbow’ film.
