Post Office aims for the financial big time with launch of Post Office Money through FCB Inferno
The Post Office is trumpeting a new ‘sub brand’ Post Office Money in a new campaign from FCB Inferno.
The Post Office has always sold a range of financial products. At the height of the financial crisis it looked as though its financial ambitions might disappear down the tube along with their supplier, the Bank of Ireland.
Disaster was averted though and now the PO says it plans to become one of the UK’s top five financial providers by 2020.
FCB Inferno has turned again to comedian Robert Webb, this time as ‘the Minister of Money,’ and his dachshund Doobie. the TV campaign will be suported through digital outdoor offerings at mainline London stations and on the Underground, managed by Mindshare.
We’re obviously supposed to love Webb and his mutt, and I’m not sure we do. But it gets the point across, without the winsome-looking bank ladies who populate so many British financial services ads so unconvincingly.
