Publicis Groupe perks up as Nestle UK media set to follow Samsung good news

It’s been rather a good week for Publicis Groupe, with Leo Burnett hanging on to its share of the $4bn Samsung creative account and BBH winning a place on the the tech giant’s hotshot roster along with Wieden+Kennedy.

Now Campaign reports that PG’s VivaKi media holding company has won Nestle’s £60m UK media account which will also provide a boost for buying shop ZenithOptimedia, which has had a turbulent last year or so, losing accounts and managers.

Nestle moves from WPP’s Mindshare which is reported to have declined an offer to repitch after ten years on the business. Curious indeed – you don’t usually say no to Nestle.

Maurice+Levy+Photo+APBe that as it may, it makes life at PG look a lot sunnier after the marcoms company took a pounding after the collapse of its proposed mega-merger with Omnicom. Maybe that’s why boss Maurice Levy (left) was in positively playful mood earlier in the week at Advertising Week in New York.

As for WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell (which owns Mindshare and failed to win any significant Samsung business), I’d approach him warily.
