A parked bus is no obstacle for Nike’s version of Rooney

The last few weeks of the UK’s football season were anything but enlivened by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s attempts to ‘park the bus’ to confound attack-minded opponents.

It worked against Liverpool, thereby scuppering their title chances, but not against Athletico Madrid who went on to lose the Champion’s League final to far richer neighbours Real, unluckily.

Anyway, Nike and agency Wieden+Kennedy London have snaffled the expression for one of three 15-second films to boost Nike’s ‘Risk Everything’ World Cup campaign – and taken it literally.

Let’s just hope this is an augury of Rooney-things to come…
