Yahoo signs Jose Mourinho for 2014 football fest
Yahoo has signed up Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as an ambassador cum analyst for its football coverage, including the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
This will include Jose’s first big appearance on social media via a new Tumblr site.
All of which should be fun as Mourinho is capable of infuriating half the world one day and charming most of it back the next.
Yahoo VP of international marketing Robert Bridge says: “This a global marketing initiative which forms a key part of our brand activity this year, matching the passion and authority that Jose brings to the game with our own. Arguably one of the biggest names in football, Jose will be the face of many of our consumer marketing campaigns in this huge year for football. It’s a strategic partnership, using our own platform to drive digital engagement, creating emotional connections between Yahoo and people’s offline interests.”
Arguably? Where does ‘arguably’ come into it Robert? Jose is the most important person in the past, present and future of football (at least according to him) and you forget this at your peril.
