Talon’s Eric Newnham wins ‘serial entrepreneur’ crown

Unknown-7Talon Outdoor CEO Eric Newnham (left) has indeed been named Serial Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Newnham, who set up OOH specialist Talon after quitting WPP’s Kinetic, was honoured for his continuous efforts to devise innovative and future-facing ideas, for both new and existing businesses.

Talon, which has received backing from biggest client Omnicom, is only one of Newnham’s many ventures. He has invested in the rather mind-bending figure of 26 digital businesses including mobile outfit Blis Media.

Newnham said, on receiving the award: ‘This is a huge honour and concludes an outstanding 12 months for the whole Talon team. It may be my turn in the spotlight tonight but make no mistake, the reason Talon is emerging as the UK’s most future-facing, digitally-led and innovative OOH specialist is down to the very exciting, talented people who work there. Here’s looking to us all doing even more in 2014.”

Which doesn’t quite sound like verbatim Eric but you get the point. Anyway the boy done well: let’s hope some of the other 26 are as successful as Talon.
