KBH boosts on-train ad network with three new clients
If it moves (or, indeed, doesn’t) there’s an ad on it these days and UK media company KBH On-Train Media has carved out an interesting niche in the out of home market.
The company has just won the contracts for on-board advertising for three train operating companies – First Great Western, Gatwick and Stansted Express – and extended its contracts with three existing clients including the recently-expanded London Overground system.
This means it now provides 63,000 advertising panels on all the key commuter routes into London, a 27 per cent increase in the size of its network which now includes all the key commuter routes into London, reaching six million people every four weeks.
KBH managing director Ian Reynolds says: “We’re delighted with the new and extended contracts, which mean an increase in the audience reached for advertisers, and ongoing stability for the KBH network. The additional inventory on these key commuter routes makes them even more valuable and effective for advertisers.”
Over 1.4bn passenger journeys are made by train each year in Britain, making it the fastest growing rail network by passenger volumes in Europe, with or without the controversial HS2 rail extension plan to the Midlands and the North.
