Remember me? Empty streets inspire Big Issue’s first appeal

The Big Issue has launched its first ever Christmas appeal, asking people to make one-off or regular donations to support the magazine and its vendors, who face an unprecedented period of hardship this winter.

FCB Inferno’s film features Big Issue vendor Martin McKenzie and his fond recollections of regular customers before the pandemic, contrasted with today’s much emptier city centre streets.

Frazer Gibney, CEO at FCB Inferno said: “Commuter hubs are hauntingly empty, and this is a tragedy for city centre businesses – particularly for Big Issue vendors who have been hit incredibly hard. This is a critical time for the Big Issue and we are asking people to remember their vendors, please dig deep and support them this Christmas.”
