Adam&eveNYC revisits 1969 moon landing for global Samsung launch

Adam&eveNYC began with the Samsung account but we haven’t seem much to date (which doesn’t mean there hasn’t been any.)

But now it’s in with a whopper, a global campaign for Samsung’s new QLED 8K TV (where do they get these names from?) ‘TV is Making History Again’ featuring the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing.

Upgraded to watching it again on a super-duper TV.

Samsung is also partnering with Statement films and CNN on an Apollo 11 documentary featuring newly-discovered footage and various video offerings including one with astronaut Scott Kelly (why are so many astronauts called Scott?) and another on women tech leaders.

Samsung Electronics America VP Grace Dolan says: “TV technology has been essential in bringing the world together to experience critical moments in modern history. As we mark the 50th anniversary of Samsung Electronics and the first steps on the moon by a human, it’s only fitting that our ‘Making History’ QLED 8K TV commercial and multimedia campaign with CNN celebrates the past while giving a glimpse into how Samsung will continue to bring people together in the future through the power of 8K.”

Fair enough and it does demonstrate the new telly in all its glory even though the original flickering images somehow have more romance.

Not the greatest ad but it’s a big idea projected onto a big stage which is very adam&eve and should play well with US clients in particular.
