Reese Witherspoon is the perfect antidote to the misery of #MeToo.
Long before a constant stream of creative leaders started coming under the spotlight for inappropriate behaviour, Witherspoon took matters into her own hands.
She set up a production company in 2000 to champion female-focused narratives, and is now pretty much Hollywood’s most powerful woman, particularly after the success of TV series “Big Little Lies,” plus films like “Gone Girl” and the double Oscar-nominated “Wild.”
Witherspoon’s latest venture is a video-on-demand service with AT&T called Hello Sunshine, which establishes her as a sort of next generation Oprah Winfrey.
This “Unstoppable” ad, by BBDO, is all about setting off a chain reaction of positivity. It’s a shame that it’s little better than a cheesy American advertorial. Let’s hope Hello Sunshine’s content is more appealing.
