Saatchi deconstructs Christmas for Asda’s Imaginarium

Asda has produced some right old Christmas clunkers in its time but – maybe the early morning mulled wine is getting to me – Saatchi & Saatchi has produced a winning effort this time around, a visit to Asda’s Victorian HQ to see its various goodies in the course of construction.

Similar in a way to CHI’s Argos effort.

Looks like the same actor appears in both too.

Nicely shot by Loz Perez for Blink.

One ad exec who knows a thing or two about Christmas ads told me the other day that Christmas was hard this year: was anyone feeling that festive with austerity, terror threats, Universal Credit cock-ups and, for some, dear old Brexit spoiling the Christmas cheer.

So far, thankfully, we haven’t had a hats, mistletoe and turkey epic.

MAA creative scale: 7.5.
