Adam&eveDDB to make Super Bowl debut with Skittles

Adam&eveDDB’s profile in the US is set to rise further as the agency has been hired to produce Skittles’ ad in next year’s Super Bowl, the showcase for American advertising (and a football game). Super Bowl spots cost about $5m.

Skittles is a Wrigley’s brand, in turn owned by Mars. A&E handles Mars Temptations cat treats in the US (below).

A&E is in the process of opening a New York office to handle Samsung in North America although it’s understood that the Skittles ad (which the agency must be working on already, the Super Bowl’s at the start of February) will emanate from London.

This is A&E’s Super Bowl debut and, while other ads produced outside America have doubtless run in the Super Bowl, it’s a major coup for A&E to be chosen for such a project. The last two Skittles Super Bowl ads were produced by DDB Chicago.
