Engine enlists the Switch Guarantee Guy to persuade us to move those pesky bank accounts

The Government thinks more of us should switch bank accounts more regularly to stimulate competition in the sector but, so far, we mostly moan but stay where we are.

Not for profit outfit Bacs is charged with this via the Current Account Switch Service which, it says, helps you switch in a week in a “simple, reliable and stress free manner.”

So, courtesy of Engine, we have a simple, reliable and stress free Switch Guarantee Guy telling us what to do.

Engine’s customer engagement agency Partners Andrews Aldridge led the creative with Engine Media (a new one on me) and The7Stars handling media planning and buying for what’s a big integrated campaign.

Bacs director of product and strategy Anne Pieckielon says: “Over three million people have already taken advantage of the current account switch service, and we believe that our new Switch Guy will help even more understand the great benefits of simple and stress-free switching.”

Engine ECD Steve Aldridge says: “This campaign marks a real step-change for Bacs, moving from awareness-driven advertising to a marketing campaign that builds confidence and trust in the service. We think it’s a really interesting and powerful way of bringing the service to life.”

Engine has become the go-to agency for these big, public service explanation jobs, along with M&C Saatchi.

This one? Cheesy certainly but catchy too.

MAA creative scale: 7.
