Beckham lines up for A&E again – this time for H&M
H&M has reportedly hired adam&eveDDB to handle a new campaign featuring David Beckham and actor and comedian Kevin Hart. The two have been pictured (including by themselves) cosying up on a New York shoot.
Dave has his own H&M collection, Modern Essentials Selected by David Beckham – hardly pithy but it seems to work.
The choice of A&E is interesting. It’s a go-to agency of course but it also worked with Beckham recently on the launch of Haig Club whisky for Diageo.
The launch ad, directed by Guy Ritchie, didn’t win many plaudits (here anyway) but Dave and his pals seemed to be enjoying themselves on their Scottish sojourn. Assisted by the amiable Ritchie, no doubt.
These days getting on with the talent is more important than ever, especially for ad agencies. CDP and BMP used to be past masters of it, working with the likes of Joan Collins, Alan Whicker and Leonard Rossiter (CDP) and even the mighty Muhamad Ali (BMP). Might Beckham have indicated a preference for A&E?
