Renault’s Folies Bergere-style ‘extra va va voom’ ad brings out the puritanical ad police

I should watch the telly a bit more I suppose (I’m usually to be found reading an improving book – Turgenev perhaps – or playing a bit of Mahler).

So I completely missed this Renault Clio ad from Publicis promising ‘extra va va voom.’

Anyway it outraged various female members of the bloggerati and also the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority which, these days, would be outraged by a glimpse of stocking or a bottle of picked onions with the lid off. So it’s been banned.

Jesus Christ, even David ‘family values’ Cameron could watch this without blushing.

It’s quite pleasant.
