Tesco goes gritty in Christmas ad blitz
There are moments when the spate of Christmas ads becomes a form of torture for those of us who decide to watch them all (or as few as we can get away with.)
Even worse, now some wily advertisers are producing whole series: M&S non-food, Aldi and now Tesco.
Agency BBH has gone gritty and northern, no discovering a stray film star at the cheese counter for the market leader.
Directed by Jeff Low, EssenceMediacom somehow found a home for them all.
Quite a labour of something or other but is there too much about the absurdity and sheer fag of the way we celebrate Christmas? Without some suspension of disbelief it’s not much to look forward to.
