It’s a simple ad by Ogilvy Social.Lab in Amsterdam for soccer magazine Panenka, but it’s beautifully shot and captures the spirit of youth, football, and Argentinian legend Maradona.
A boy attaches his much-loved football to a large bunch of balloons and lets it fly, saying: “Diego, we send you a ball so you can play wherever you are.” The final words are those of Maradona himself: “I tried to be happy playing soccer to make all of you happy.”
The sense of warm air and open space it conjures up is a great antidote to winter 2020 in the UK.
