McDonald’s is #ReindeerReady in Leo Burnett’s Christmas ad

A classic Christmas tale from McDonald’s: a cute child who overcomes rejection with the help of a fantasy reindeer friend, and finally brings the family together around a packet of chicken nuggets.

Being McDonald’s it is rescued from too much schmaltz because it involves a trip to a fast food restaurant, and Leo Burnett has told the story well, even persuading McDonald’s to hand out free “Reindeer Treats” at restaurants on Christmas Eve.

Commenting on the campaign, Chaka Sobhani, chief creative officer, Leo Burnett London, said: “This campaign celebrates the power of a child’s imagination which comes even more to life at Christmas time. Kids have that incredible ability to embrace the magical side of Christmas and see wonder where we struggle to. We hope this Christmas tale of a little girl and her tutu-wearing dog warms the heart and gets the country Reindeer Ready.”
