WPP’s GTB hits top gear for Ford’s Mustang – almost

WPP’s GTB agency (Global Team Blue) is fighting to hang on to its lion’s share of the Ford creative business (wonder if SMS has been on the phone to Dearborn?) and this is a bolder effort than usual for the new Ford Mustang.

“Do not no gentle into that good night” is the opening line from Dylan Thomas’ best-known poem and it’s borrowed here to contrast the rage of everyday life with the escape offered from it by the legendary muscle car.

“Don’t Go Quietly” is a bit of a cop-out though. Were they worried that “don’t go gentle..” sounded too aggressive? Maybe they were forced to change it.
