Not only Peter Cook but also Dudley Moore for CDP’s vintage Harveys Bristol Cream

Here’s a rare one from the archives – remastered by the look of it – reminding us that one of the key aspects of the great Collett Dickenson Pearce was its ability to persuade proper stars to appear in its ads.

Here we have the late lamented Peter Cook and Dudley Moore – stars of the BBC’s ‘Not Only..but Also,’ most of which the Beeb wiped in its wisdom – performing for Harveys Bristol Cream.

Cook (the tall one) was not the easiest man to persuade to follow a script. Director Vernon Howe managed it here, somehow or other.
