On the up again BBH wins Costa coffee worldwide
BBH has won Whitbread’s global Costa coffee account following a pitch.
BBH seems to be getting its mojo back and this is potentially a big win. It’s tough on UK indie 101 which produced a decent campaign for then new client Costa in the UK but BBH’s new campaign is intended for 33 markets worldwide which BBH, presumably, can access through the Publicis network.
Costa global brand director Caroline Harris says: “We are delighted to confirm the appointment of BBH as our lead global creative agency. We’ve been really impressed with their strategic planning and creative strategy through the pitch. We had a fantastic chemistry with the team and they have a great understanding of target customers, as well as a genuine appreciation of the differences across our key geographies. We’re excited to start working with them on the next stage in our brand development.”
BBH London CEO Ben Fennell says: “BBH is thrilled to be working with Costa after what was an excellent pitch process. The brief was tight, the process was fast, and the clients were delightful. I’m confident that we will do great things together.”
Costa, famed for its mountainous coffees, now has 2000 outlets in the UK and plans to replicate this worldwide. Why hasn’t someone bought the UK’s Bar Italia? Anyway, there we go and Costa worldwide will doubtless do well. Its new line is
BBH is picking up too, making a decent debut for new client Deloitte earlier this week and now Costa. Costa’s new line is “Inspiring the world to love Great Coffee.”
