James Harris returns as Carat digital chief

James Harris, one of the founders of Carat’s Diffiniti digital agency which later became iProspect, has returned to the fold after stints at UM, Interpublic and, latterly, as head of international agencies at AOL.

James[1]Harris (left) replaces Anthony Rhind as chief digital officer at Carat Global Clients. Harris is also the author of Think More Analogue, Be More Digital.

Carat, the biggest network in Dentsu Aegis Network, has done well in digital, keeping up with its full service holding company competitors who should, in theory, have more resources. Umbrella company Aegis is currently involved in some of the $20bn plus of North American and global media pitches taking place.

Harris will report to Carat global president Doug Ray. Ray says: “As a business we are focussed on ‘Redefining Media’ to deliver business outcomes for our clients. This requires a clear command of the possibilities that convergence creates and expert understanding of the latest advances in technology. James has a proven track record in driving digital thinking forward and generating transformational results. His skills will continue to strengthen our capabilities in this area.”
