Rapport tipped to win £12m Fox out of home business

21st_century_fox_logo_blackInterpublic-owned out of home specialist agency Rapport is believed to have won the 21st Century Fox OOH account, one of the UK’s biggest at about £12m. The business is currently at Dentsu Aegis agency Posterscope.

Rapport has overcome number of problems over the past couple of years, losing CEO Roy Jeans who has set up his own business and the £7m Tesco account to WPP’s Kinetic. IPG’s two media agencies in the UK, Initiative and UM have lost a number of accounts, including Microsoft and Tesco, cutting off one source of business.

But the agency, now led by Chris Marjoram, has maintained its grip on the UK’s two biggest OOH accounts, Sky and Samsung. Sky, which spends about £70m a year on OOH, is minority owned by 21st Century Fox, Rupert Murdoch’s global entertainment giant. Rapport’s good work on Sky has clearly played a role in the Fox win. It wouldn’t be a surprise if News UK (part of Murdoch’s print-based company News Corp) followed Fox into Rapport.
