Lori Senecal wins top job at MDC Partners – can she keep all the other MDC agency bosses in line?

MDC Partners is perhaps the most interesting holding company around: Miles Nadal’s construct includes some top creative names – Anomaly, Crispin Porter and 72andSunny among them – but has so far adamantly declined to make a profit.

Not that this has deterred Nadal, who continues to enjoy the confidence of his shareholders.

But something had to change; MDC needed to become more than just a financial construct. Now Nadal has taken a big step by appointing Lori Senecal, boss of flagship MDC New York agency Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners as president and CEO of MDC Partners network; effectively COO of the whole operation.

Senecal, the quintessential NYC adwoman, is a former president of McCann New York. Her biggest achievement at KBS which she joined following the departure of founder Jon Bond, is the US BMW account.

Now she has to show the likes of Jon Boiler at 72andSunny and Carl Johnson at Anomaly that she’s the person to lead them to the promised land – a credible global network offer and the rewards that come with it.
