Publicis chief quits, more Skoda for Fallon, One is off to York races and Visa fails to make the most of Bolt

***Unknown-5Publicis Conseil creative boss Olivier Altmann (left) is leaving to start a new agency with former McCann Paris general manager Edoard Pacreau.

The new agency will be known as Altmann+Pacreau (as they are these days). The two worked together at Publicis on the agency’s flagship Renault account.

***Fallon has won Skoda’s European ad account from Leagas Delaney, beating agencies including the incumbent, 18 Feet & Rising and Amsterdam Worldwide in the process.

Skoda is Fallon UK’s oldest account for which the agency produced the award-winning ‘Cake’ ad a few years ago.

***It’s always good to support your clients financially (they think it is anyway) and Manchester’s One Marketing Communications is supporting client York Racecourse by sponsoring the newly-entitled One Marketing Communications Stakes at York’s May meeting on Saturday with a £25,000 prize.

***Feeling a bit Brazil’d out already but Visa’s an official World Cup sponsor so it’s getting in on the action with a new Saatchi & Saatchi campaign, ‘Flow Faster,’ plugging its mobile, online and contactless payment services. Star of the show is sprinter Usain Bolt who once showed an interest in playing for Manchester United (not reciprocated as far as we know). Bolt’s pretty good in ads so you feel the agency could have done a bit more with him here.
