BETC London poaches top account man Crispin Butler from AMV/BBDO
Havas-owned BETC is one of the brighter sparks on the London agency scene (and huge in Paris, of course) and it’s taken a further step up by hiring Crispin Butler (left) from AMV/BBDO as head of account management.
AMV/BBDO has been Britain’s biggest agency for decades now and, although the agency is famous for its planning and some of its creative work, uber-efficient account management has been key too. This was imported into the agency in its early days by one-time Ogilvy UK boss Michael Baulk who positively gleamed with efficiency and charm.
At AMV Butler worked on the flagship Guinness account as well as other biggies like Aviva, Birds Eye, Mars and Sainsbury’s. BETC London’s accounts include Bacardi, Danone, Diet Coke and Ibis Hotels.
CEO Matthew Charlton says: “Cris joins us with an amazing pedigree and a wealth of experience in producing brilliant creative work. We’re delighted to have him on board.” As you do. But suits do matter (especially with big win Bacardi to keep out of the hands of the Americans) and Butler seems cut from the right stuff.
