UK Pussy drinks firm claims its name is not about pussies at all as its BMB posters are banned

Well we’re all for a bit of cheeky advertising and marketing but when you call your soft drink Pussy and run a campaign saying “The drink’s pure, it’s your mind that’s the problem,” and the ad gets banned (by the ASA) what do you expect?

Anyway that’s what’s happened to Pussy drinks in the UK (one of the shareholders is Holly Branson I believe) and agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay; still trying to be an enfant terrible (after Wonderbra and FCUK at Trevor Beattie’s former agency) but rather failing in this instance.

Pussy and BMB have whinged, saying pussy means a kitten according to the OED. Oh yeah, so why didn’t you call it Kittens?

If the campaign was funny and/or sexy we might have liked it.

But this sort of stuff is just kids shouting in a playground.
