George Lois, Lee Clow, Lou Reed and various Coke execs head Cannes speaker line-up
Cannes Lions has announced its first line-up of speakers for this year’s June adfest and it includes:
Lee Clow TBWA), James Heekin (Grey), David Karp (Tumblr), Muhtar Kent (Coca-Cola), George Lois, Jane McGonigal (designer and author apparently), Tim Mellors, Lou Reed, Justin Shaffer (Facebook), Sir Martin Sorrell, Kevin Systrom (Instagram), Joseph Tripodi (Coke), Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Wales.
Can’t say it sets the pulses racing (and there may a few zimmer frames on La Croisette).
No doubt there’ll be more later, and some agencies bring their own as Crispin Porter did last year with the undoubted star of the show Bill Clinton (even if his knowledge of ads was a little hazy).
Coke execs are appearing mob-handed because they’ve already won advertiser of the year or whatever it’s called these days. Veteran adman George Lois (left) is billed as a ‘master communicator’ although some might say “master self-publicist.”
What’s the bertting that Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) turn up?
