American Eagle shows off latest signing Lamine Yamal in new campaign
Spain’s World Cup winning football team’s standout star, Lamine Yamal – who turned 19 during the tournament – is fronting a new American Eagle campaign aimed at students returning to schools and colleges in the US.
The brand is so pleased with the partnership that it briefly changed its name to “Lamine’s Eagles” after Spain won the World Cup. A product collaboration will launch globally on September 3rd featuring baggy denim, cargo pants, hooded jackets, oversized denim shirts, all Gen Z-targeted streetwear apparel.
Yamal has a growing portfolio of deals, including Adidas, Beats by Dre, Visa, and Japanese gaming conglomerate Konami. Although he didn’t shine quite as brightly as fans hoped during the World Cup, he was still outstanding, and won extra hearts (and memes) thanks to his cute three year old brother Keyne.
American Eagle watchers may (or may not) be reassured to know that actress Sydney Sweeney, who has been a controversial brand ambassador, is also part of the back to school campaign, alongside country music star Ella Langley.
