Why a big idea can be an obvious idea: cats for Netto

Two facts: people love cats nearly as much as kittens online. Most British supermarkets have been serving up un-engaging rubbish for years in their expensive ad campaigns. Which might be one reason why their CEOs don’t seem to last very long these days.

So why didn’t they think of cats?

Germany’s Jung von Matt did for Danish-owned discounter Netto.

Netto has a deal with Sainsbury’s in the UK and Sainsbury’s is reviewing its creative account at AMV BBDO. Might Jung be asked to open a UK office?

MAA creative scale: 8.5 (It looks a touch creaky at times).
