Wieden+Kennedy conjures up spirit of Pheidippides for Nike’s marathon runners

Running a marathon is, indeed, a painful business: as Wieden+Kennedy HQ points out in this campaign for Nike+Run, the first marathon runner died (one Pheidippides bringing the good news about victory over the Persians at the battle of Marathon back to Athens, a distance of 26 miles and 385 yards – 42km in modern Greece).

Something to be avoided methinks. Not so, judging by the ever-growing stream of puffing people you meet on your (more pedestrian) travels.

Captures the gory detail of it all.

MAA creative scale: 7.
