Marissa Mayer unveils new Yahoo line-up at CES

imagesYahoo CEO Marissa Mayer (left) has announced some new goodies at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. These include:

A new Yahoo Advertising platform which includes a unified suite of digital advertising products for premium and audience-focused display, native and search advertising.

‘Native’ (advertorial) advertising opportunities on the new Yahoo Food and Yahoo Tech, two new sites that aim to marry the look of traditional magazines with bite-sized content, rich video and photos from across the Web.

Tumblr-sponsored posts powered by Yahoo Advertising.

A new product from Aviate that aims to that change the way users interact with their Android devices by connecting them to information at the moment it’s useful. This is currently available only in a limited beta version.

Yahoo News Digest, a new app for iPhone and iPod Touch that delivers the most important news of the day, twice per day, to mobile devices. This has been designed and built by Nick D’Aloisio, the British teenager who sold his company Summly to Yahoo for $30m.

Ms Mayer has taken a bit of stick since she joined Yahoo from Google (not least for redesigning its logo one free weekend) but in a content-driven world she’s coming up with a number of interesting ideas.
