Flipkart marks India’s independence day by sticking it to the Raj
India’s equivalent of Amazon, Flipkart, is showing its sense of humour for the annual celebration of independence from the Brits, with a campaign lampooning Queen Elizabeth II as “naughty granny” and inviting fellow countrymen to get revenge by looting from the British Raj.
The Raj in question is any unsuspecting Brit named Raj. If you track one down on social media you can unlock a Freedom Day discount code.
Omnicom India’s 22feet has thought up the idea which spans digital, social media, and OOH, with QR codes directing audiences to the film and encouraging them to join the hunt for discount codes as the Freedom Sale begins.
