Brands tap into Spider-Sense for Marvel’s ‘Brand New Day’ movie
The launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the super hero’s ninth live-action film since 2002, and brands are lining up to invest in a franchise that has already grossed more than $11 billion worldwide. A big, guaranteed summer family blockbuster seems to make sense for every category, from cars to Crocs.
BMW is using Spider-Man as the platform for the launch of its new electric SUV with this father-son bonding spot from Jung von Matt Hamburg. The German carmaker joins a big list from all around the world, including brands like McDonald’s and Samsung but also ranging from shoes, a watchmaker, pizza and sandwiches, to a bank, air conditioning units and condoms.

Samsung has chosen Spiderman: Brand New Day as the launchpad for its next generation phone in a film featuring a returning character called Ned Leeds
And McDonald’s has built a summer Happy Meals campaign around a collab with the movie.
Many critics are already declaring the film Spider-Man’s best yet, and it’s at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, which takes audience reactions into account. Some of the brand tie-ups are pretty good too.
